Guangzhou, October 17, 2026
The 140th Canton Fair is now in its third day, and the pace inside the exhibition halls has settled into something familiar: a steady flow of buyers, short product discussions turning into longer meetings, samples being examined closely, and plenty of questions about specifications and market requirements.
For Sonifer, the most valuable part of these five days is not simply the number of visitors at the booth. It is what buyers are telling us.

What Buyers Are Asking About
Over the first few days of the exhibition, our conversations have covered a wide range of small appliance products and markets.Buyers have been particularly focused on practical questions around:
Product functionality/Technical specifications/Product positioning/Market suitability/Packaging/Quality consistency/Certifications and documentation/Order quantities and lead times
These may sound like straightforward purchasing questions. In reality, they reveal how much more carefully international buyers are evaluating products today.
A buyer is rarely looking at an appliance as an isolated item. They are considering how it will perform in their own market, how consumers will respond to it, how it will fit their existing product range, and whether the commercial proposition makes sense.

The Most Useful Conversations Are Not Always the Longest
Trade exhibitions can create a strange rhythm. Some meetings last only a few minutes.Others continue for half an hour or more. But length is not necessarily the best measure of a productive meeting.A short conversation can be valuable if both sides quickly identify a suitable product and a clear next step.
On the other hand, a long product presentation may achieve very little if it does not address the buyer’s actual requirements. This is why we have been paying attention to the questions behind the questions.
When a buyer asks about wattage, for example, the real concern may be suitability for a particular market.
When they ask about packaging, they may be thinking about transportation damage, retail presentation or e-commerce fulfillment.
When they ask about MOQ, they may be testing whether a product fits an initial market launch rather than simply negotiating price.
Understanding the reason behind a question leads to a much more useful discussion.
A Different Perspective on Product Selection
One thing becomes particularly clear when you speak to buyers from different countries in the same exhibition hall:
There is no single definition of a “good” small appliance.Different markets have different priorities. Some buyers focus strongly on functionality.Others are more concerned with design and consumer appeal. Some need products for established distribution networks.Others are testing a new category through e-commerce.
This is why product selection cannot be separated completely from market knowledge.A product needs to make sense for the person who will ultimately use it.

Sonifer’s Focus at the Fair
At Sonifer, we are presenting products across kitchen appliances, personal care and beauty appliances, and garment care appliances.
Our conversations with buyers are not limited to individual models. We also discuss how different products fit into a market, what specifications need to be considered, and what information should be confirmed before moving forward.
This is particularly important for international business. The product shown at the booth is only one part of the process.Specifications, packaging, documentation, quality expectations and delivery planning all become important once a buyer decides to proceed.Professional sourcing means looking at the complete picture.
Three Days In, the Value of Face-to-Face Communication Is Clear
Digital communication has made international sourcing much easier.Buyers can discover suppliers, compare products and request quotations without travelling.
But there are still things that are difficult to replace online.Seeing a product in person.Comparing several models side by side.Asking a technical question and discussing it immediately.Explaining a market problem to someone who understands the product.
These interactions often reveal details that are difficult to capture in a product listing. That is one reason trade exhibitions remain relevant even in an increasingly digital sourcing environment.
